RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria 2024

The eligibility criteria for recruitment of Group D positions under the Indian Railways for year 2024 is available below in terms of educational qualification and age limit.

  • Educational Qualification: A candidate must have passed the Matriculation exam from a school recognised by State or Central board, additionally, the individual must hold an ITI Certificate from an institution recognised by the SCVT/NCVT.
  • Age Limit: The candidate’s age shouldn’t be below 18 years, and the upper age limit for UR, OBC-NCL/CL, and SC/ST is 33 years, 36 years and 38 years, respectively.

In order to submit an application form for recruitment of Group D positions in the Indian Railways, a candidate will have to deposit the application fee of 500 rupees, and female aspirants and male individuals belong to Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Caste or Person with Disability is exempted from the payment of the application fee.

RRB Group D Selection Process 2024

The selection process for recruitment of Group D positions under the Indian Railways consists multiple stages, which are as follows:

  • Computer Based Test 
  • Physical Efficiency Test 
  • Document Verification 
  • Medical Examination 

Candidates who apply for recruitment against various Group D positions under the Indian Railways will be called for CBT, which will be followed by the PET, and then the last two stages will be administered simultaneously.

RRB Group D Pay Scale 2024

Candidates who will be appointed to the various Group D positions under the Indian Railways will get the payment of 18,000 rupees under the Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with Transport Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Dearness Allowance and other benefits, which translates the salary range from 22,000 to 25,000 rupees.

RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2024

The Railway Recruitment Boards will hold the CBT against the various Group D positions across the country at various exam centres with an exam time duration of 90 minutes. A total number 100 MCQs will be asked in the exam, each question will be of 1 mark with a provision of negative marking of ¼ mark.

Out of 100 multiple-choice questions, 25 will be from each: General Science, and Mathematics, and 30 from General Intelligence and Reasoning, and 20 from General Awareness and Current Affairs. The medium of the examination is likely to be both English and Hindi.
